| About |
oil and acrylic paint. My life-long passion for art inspired me to get a fine arts degree from the University of Central Florida and though I haven't always been able to indulge my love of art, my interest never waned. My passion for art was enhanced even more when my husband and I lived in New Jersey and would make weekend trips to the Metropolitan in New York City. The opportunity to see "The Masters" up close still influences me to this day. I admire so many artists that it's impossible to focus on only one style. As a result, my artistic endeavours encompass both abstract and representational art. Abstraction is a way to explore colors, shapes and feelings, and bring up subconscious dreams and fears, without the limitations imposed by trying to reproduce the external world. Periodically, though, the structure involved with creating art based on the visible calls and I feel compelled to work on creating it in my own fashion. Most importantly, I've learned not to feel guilty about my need to work in both styles. To help focus my artistic journey, I've created a blog for the daily (mostly) posting of paintings, drawings, ideas, creative inspirations (and hindrances) and reflections on the creative process. Developing the skills and ideas to produce paintings that will satisfy me and, hopefully, bring some pleasure to others is an ongoing process. My blog documents the process in a more timely fashion than this website, so I hope you can check it out. Comments are encouraged and welcomed. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy some of my work. Technical note: I use only the finest artist's materials and accept commissions for any type of work, including animal and people portraits. All work is satisfaction guaranteed. Clear photos are required for portraiture work. All prices are based on size, complexity and medium, but are very reasonable.
